Fascination with photography

Photography has a very special fascination for me. In 1980 I began to deal more intensively with this topic. At that time you could only look at the result of a photo after the development of the film, which created a certain tension in me and aroused the hunting instinct for the good picture. Sometimes waiting for a good motive for several days with the heavy equipment - that had something! Today other factors have come to the fore. For those interested in technology, it is much easier to implement. Today's possibilities of digital image processing are a real paradise for photographers and graphic designers. With many cell phones, you always have a reasonably acceptable to good camera for everyday photography in your pocket. And if you want something of a higher quality, you reach for a photo bag that is only half as heavy today and go hunting again. Despite many changes, photography has lost none of its appeal over the years.

The stop of time

In the freezing of a moment, I see a good opportunity to look at details of the now that has already passed more precisely and for longer. Slowing down is an important aspect in a world that is turning ever faster. It is also interesting to observe that when looking at a picture, moments, colors, moods, smells, feelings that were thought to be forgotten can be recalled into memory even after many years. Details that are not even perceived at the moment of photography are often very interesting when viewed calmly. I use pictures that evoke pleasant feelings in me, even during meditations.

Image composition

With the help of digital photo post-processing and working with different apertures, shutter speeds, focal lengths and depth of field settings, I try to bring my individual perspective of a moment closer to the viewer and to focus on different topics - focal points. The color scheme and the perspective from which I look at a photo scene also have a great influence on the result of my statement. In the example on the right I wanted to create a postcard motif with the theme of the old town in a vintage style. The carriage in the foreground should make the picture appear three-dimensional. It was also important to me that as little as possible is seen, which reveals the real date of the recording.
